Sustain the Culture

The Context

Sustain The Culture (STC) is a culture lab and community hub working to build critical mass engagement for Black environmental concerns by organizing at the intersection of Black culture and our environment. Through community engagement and culturally informed communications strategies, STC is creating a movement where liberatory environmentalism becomes mainstream and reaches those who may never typically consider themselves as “environmentalists” under the mainstream environmentalism current framing.

The Project

Team DSB was tasked to create a communications strategy and branding that exemplify the Sustain The Culture values, mission, and vision for its official launch in January 2023. Intending to design an agile brand that is driven by local communities and culture, Team DSB delivered an uplifting brand identity and audience-expanding communications strategy.

How We Helped

Team DSB collaborated with Sustain The Culture to develop statements including vision, mission, values, theory of change, communications objectives, and audience analysis. Our team also developed the brand guide, landing page, pitch deck, and social media assets to allow Sustain the Culture to kick-off its launch.

The Impact

Since Team DSB stepped in to support the launch of Sustain The Culture, its platforms and content have reached over 450K people across its website and social media platforms.
